U.S. State Boundaries    This zip archive (368 KB) contains 51 files with names such as AK.DAT, where AK is the state abbreviation.  The data is in World Data Bank I format.  The DAT files can be plotted directly from Versamap.  This data was developed and placed in the public domain by Paul B. Anderson.

U.S. States showing County Boundaries    This zip archive (1.6 MB) contains 51 files with names such as CO_AK.DAT, where AK is the state abbreviation.  The data is in World Data Bank I format.  The DAT files can be plotted directly from Versamap.  This data was developed and placed in the public domain by Paul B. Preliminary political boundaries for the new Canadian territory of Nunavut:

Nunavut Territory, Canada    This zip archive (10 KB) contains 3 files: (1) NUNAVUTA.PNT (Nunavut proper), (2) NUNAVUTB.PNT (additional islands in Hudson Bay), (3) NUNAVUT.TXT (data sources).  The PNT files can be plotted directly from Versamap.  This data was developed and placed in the public domain by Paul B. Anderson.

Outline maps of individual countries:

Countries showing Provincial Boundaries   This zip archive (280 KB) contains outline maps with provincial boundaries, for 35 individual countries.  The maps were derived from the public domain cartography program EpiMap.  The EpiMap files were converted to Versamap PNT format by Kurt Trinko.  The PNT files can be plotted directly from Versamap.

World Map with Provincial Boundaries   This zip archive (260 KB) contains an outline map of the world, showing national and provincial boundaries, in Versamap DAT format.  The DAT files can be plotted directly from Versamap.  This data was developed and placed in the public domain by Paul B. Geophysical data:

Atlantic Ocean Hurricane Tracks 1975-1998    This zip archive (192 KB) contains 5 files (ALLE.PRN, ALLE_R.PRN, ALLE.TXT, ALLE_R.TXT, INFO.TXT).  The 2 files (ALLE.PRN, ALLE_R.PRN) in Versamap ascii PRN format can be plotted directly from Versamap.  Hurricane.txt is a translation from the German, with additional notes, of INFO.TXT.  This public domain data was converted to Versamap PRN format by Kurt Trinko.

World Earthquake Epicenters    This zip archive (744 KB) contains a file, EQ_ALL.PRN, with the epicenters of all earthquakes of magnitude 5.0 or greater, that occurred between January 1990 and December 2006.  The PRN file can be plotted directly from Versamap.  The file contains the epicenter, magnitude, and date of 26,222 earthquakes.

World Volcanoes    This zip archive (8 KB) contains a file, Volcano.prn, with the positions of all 813 volcanoes known to have erupted in the last 10,000 years.  The PRN file can be plotted directly from Versamap.

World Tectonic Plates   This zip archive (140 KB) contains 3 files (RIDGE.PRN, TRENCH.PRN, TRANSFORM.PRN), that when plotted together, make up the tectonic plate boundaries as defined by the University of Texas Institute for Geophysics "PLATES Project".  The PRN files can be plotted directly from Versamap.

World Oceanic Fracture Zones and Magnetic Lineations    This zip archive (614 KB) contains 2 files from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's Global Relief CD-ROM: (1) WMAGLIN.PNT - World Magnetic Lineations and (2) WFRACZON.PNT - World Fracture Zones.  The PNT files can be plotted directly from Versamap.  This data was developed and placed in the public domain by Paul B. Anderson.

Significant Geographic Parallels    This zip archive (12 KB) contains geographic coordinates for the Arctic Circle (66°33'N), the Antarctic Circle (66°33'S), the Tropic of Cancer (23°27'N), and the Tropic of Capricorn (23°27'S).  The 4 Versamap ascii PRN files in this archive can be plotted directly from Versamap.

Coordinates of German Cities, Mountains, Lakes, and Islands    This zip archive (88 KB) contains several Versamap ascii PRN files, with the latitude, longitude coordinates of over 7000 German cities, mountains, lakes, and islands.  Read GERMANY.TXT for details of each file.  The PRN files can be plotted directly from Versamap.  This data was contributed by Ulf Koppitz.
